Dr. Chris McDonald (GDC No 83295)

Dr. Chris McDonald graduated from Dundee Dental School with Honours in July 2004. A gifted surgeon, Chris joined the Queens Road Dental Practice team in 2008 where he continues to provide high quality surgical dentistry and place dental implants for patients with missing teeth.

Chris completed his vocational training in general dental practice in Wadebridge, Cornwall, after which he moved to the Royal Cornwall Hospital, Truro, taking a Senior House Officer post in the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Department. From that point, Chris decided that surgery was the career for him. He has 7 years of experience working in Oral and Maxillofacial units including Aberdeen, Dundee, Fife and Cornwall.

After deciding to pursue a career in surgery, Dr. McDonald applied to study medicine at Aberdeen University Medical School and is now in his final year. Chris plans to go right to top of his profession and become an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Consultant.

He continues to work as part of the teams in NHS Tayside, Fife and Grampian Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Departments providing care for patients with a wide variety of problems inlcuding facial trauma and cancer.

Chris is committed to ongoing research and audit, with interests in skin cancer and lip dysplasia. He has won numerous prizes, including the Behavioural Sciences (Scotland) prize and has twice won the Scottish Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Prize.

Outside of Dentistry Chris enjoys cycling, climbing, walking and outdoor pursuits as well as running his local Cub Scout Group. In August 2011, along with his wife Vikki, he was delighted to welcome a new addition to the McDonald family, new born baby girl Emily!
